Good Morning for Tuesday...

Good Morning for Tuesday...

Here is a great shot of LaShonda S. enjoying a frozen squid from the Asian Market following last week's Two Buck Tuesday.  During the event teams were given $10 to finding one unique item.  During the game they had to buy something, barter for something, beg for something, and borrow something.  The team that had the best item following the game won all the items brought in.  A few of the items brought back were a zebra patterned futon, a gumball machine, a set of left handed golf clubs, a dead snake, and a parakeet......and not one but two dead squids!

The Seagull Song...

Yes dear friends I have returned from the abyss! After a great week of CBC summer camp in Orange Beach I spoke at the Life Community Church (of Nolansville, Tennessee) summer camp in Gulf Shores.  This weekend I held off blogging to have some much needed catch up time with my family.

BUT NOW I AM BACK! Ready for a huge week starting with Two Buck Tuesday tonight, the July Road Trip on Friday, and the return of Converge Weekend Worship on Sunday!

I hope you are looking forward to these special, summer only, events!

To tide you over until our activities I give to you the seagull song which I wrote and performed at the Life Community summer camp last week.  Enjoy!

Behold!

when blacksmithing, it is good to avoid touching the hot part of the metal. it may leave one's hands blistered; not the kind of blisters that make you feel like you've done a hard day's work.

keep that in mind this week as you take to the forge.

i'm ready for another monday morning hike. the time has come. my club has been sitting in my trunk for too long. it longs for some action. and action it shall receive. the next monday morning hike is July 13th.  i couldn't be more ready. also, that will be the next meeting of the Club club. all are welcome, and yes, we are accepting new members.

also, wrap your mind around this:

in the 19th century, Shakers invented the broom.
thanks Shakers. brooms are awesome.

keep this information in mind.

Camp Day Four Update...

Camp has been a great experience so far. We wrap up tonight and return to God's country tomorrow! I cannot wait for you to hear about the good, bad, and ugly from camp.

After dinner tonight we will baptize five teenagers. I don't know if we can have any better way to wrap up our 2009 camp experience!

Continue to join us in praying for transformation at camp.

We love and miss everyone back at CBC.

Good Afternoon Picture for Saturday...

Last night we headed to the Wharf at Orange Beach to eat dinner. A few students sat a few tables down so I had the waitress deliver them a Shirley Temple (aka a cherry sprite) in a martini glass. The server even accented it with salt on the glass rim. When the drink was delivered Colin's eyes about popped out of his head as he thought a beautiful woman had ordered him an adult beverage. It was a very funny moment!Good Afternoon Picture for Saturday...

Camp in Orange Beach has begun in full. The students are doing great and are having lots of fun so far. We are joining 1600 other students and leaders for five states. Pray for our group as we worship, learn, play, and relax!
